Behind the Headlines

Aer Lingus  called a press conference at Dublin Airport tomorrow, originally on the premise that the 2017 trans-Atlantic routes will be announced (an announcement originally scheduled for July 4). There are questions, however, is whether the deal will be finalised in time. It is likely to be realigned for another announcement, such as the long sought after Skytrax validation should the routes not be finalised.

ncl euro pricingNorwegian Cruise Line has launched euro pricing for Ireland.  The cruise line says euro pricing is part of a robust roll-out plan that focuses on education of Irish travel trade partners. Until now Norwegian had relied on their Irish wholesaler Sunway to get over the cost and technological challenge of offering prices in euro. Many Irish partners are already taking part in training sessions through webinars or face-to-face workshops. Dublin airport’s car parks were all booked out, as was rival Quickpark, this week for the first time in the history of the airport.
